Fantasy Football – 7 Annoying Stuffs to Avoid in the Sport

The fantasy football season is around the corner and we bet that you are trying out the 11Wickets App for drafting your online football team.

Playing fantasy premier league games using your football knowledge is an interesting and exciting pastime. There are many stuffs you shouldn’t do when you are online playing this strategic game.

Let us take a look on those stuffs and try not to repeat them while playing our next fantasy football league game. Read on now:

Don’t tell anybody about your team

By now you should know that nobody cares about your fantasy team. So, don’t be that person that goes into work and starts telling everyone around you how your team played in the last game. Nobody in the entire world cares about your team so if you are ever thinking about bringing it up, just don’t. Bring up anything else. Except for politics. That’s annoying, too.

Don’t post/tweet angry things when you think the player is underperforming

Venting your frustrations on a player of your team at social media won’t help you in winning the game. Hence, stop posting about the speculated underperforming player of your team and plan out your best strategies to win a game.

Don’t take a lot of time with each of your picks during the draft

The best draft is a fast draft, so don’t you dare think about taking up all of your allotted time on any of your picks. You really should need only 10 seconds to make a pick. No excuses. This isn’t rocket science. It’s not hard. All drafts now have the best available players listed right there on your screen so take the next best available player you’re looking for.

Don’t give up on your team

You owe it to your fellow league members, who are also most likely your friends, to keep things competitive for everyone, especially if money is on the line.

Don’t cheer when your opponent’s star player gets hurt

Don’t clap or pump a fist when your opponent’s top player gets helped off the field. Be better than this. So much better than this. These football players are real people, don’t ever forget that.

Don’t be the last person to pay your league fees

Don’t make the commissioner of your league chase you down for your payment. With all the payment gateway at 11wickets.com, there are no excuses to not getting your money in early.

Here is a list of the three of them. Read about them and play fantasy football games.

Wembley Stadium

This arena has a beautiful history. It was reopened in the year 2007 after it was demolished in 2002-2003. It took almost five years to complete the re-construction of this ground because of the lack of financial assistance. According to the rules and regulations of UEFA, Wembley ground falls in the fourth category. It is also the second-largest stadium in Europe and has the capacity to fill in about 90000 people during a football match. The Football Association owns the Wembley arena through WNSL.

It is also famous for several other reasons. It hosts the final of FA Cup every year. Besides this, the stadium also hosts the international matches of England. The UEFA Champions League final was also played in this ground in the year 2011 and 2013.

The arena with its circumference of 1 km has more than 2100 toilets (more than any other stadiums in the world). Besides hosting the football matches, Wembley also hosts several music concerts and important international conferences. The rock band Green Day’s performance had seen the presence of more than 90,000 people in Wembley.

Old Trafford Stadium

The Old Trafford or the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ as it is remembered as is one of the oldest stadiums in England. Opened in the year 1910, the Old Trafford had a capacity of 80000 people. At present, there are little more than 75000 seats in there. Since its inception, the club has been playing home games in this field. During the second world war, it was damaged because of the bombing by German missiles because the ground had been a shelter for the British troops during the war. During the re-construction of it, the United team had shared the ground of their city rivals Manchester City, in Milne Road.

The present arena has a covering of the roofs. This covering was made in the year 1959. It is the largest field among all the other clubs in the premier league.

Emirates Stadium

Hosting the matches of Arsenal, it is the third-largest ground in England after Wembley and Old Trafford. It has a capacity of a bit more than 60000. Officially opening at the year 2006, it was the second stadium for Arsenal. Its first stadium being the Arsenal stadium, located at Highbury in London (built in the year 1913). The Arsenal fans wanted to increase the capacity of their first arena but it was built in a residential area and therefore it could not be expanded. Ultimately leading to the construction of a new stadium.

Fantasy Football – 5 Stadiums with Best Football Ambience

There’s something about fantasy football that it continuously gets to keep the title ‘the beautiful game’ even though the prices of tickets amongst other factors have gone up drastically in only the last decade.

Yet, it pulls in crowds by the thousands of fantasy premier league fans playing at 11Wickets App who are willing to sacrifice a lot. If it means they’re able to come to the stadium and support their favourite team every week.

And when such passionate fantasy football games fans come to the stadium, they’re able to create a kind of atmosphere that makes players enjoy on the field. As a professional player, when you walk out to a series of chants and when they applaud your every move, it boosts your morale and lifts you to perform at a higher level.

There are only a few stadiums in the world who create incredible atmospheres. Here’s looking at five of the best stadiums in Europe in terms of the atmosphere:

Westfalenstadion

Famous world-wide for the exquisite ‘Yellow Wall’, the Westfalenstadion is home to Borussia Dortmund and one of the best – if not the best – football stadiums in the world in terms of atmosphere.

Borussia Dortmund are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and often play some of biggest names in world football at their home and when they do, their fans get behind the team with insane chants, people-oriented murals and an overall atmosphere that can’t be matched by anyone.

The Ruhr stadium seats 80,720 people and boasts of an average attendance of 99.6% making it one of the most incredible sights in world football.

Polish Army Stadium

The Polish Army Stadium is home to Polish giants Legia Warsaw in the middle of the Polish capital city of Warsaw. And boy, is it one of the most hellish ones in the world.

The fans of Legia are one of the most passionate fans in the world and they’ll brave any weather to witness their teams play in the stadium. They’re also one of the loudest and brash-est fans who often resort to halting games just to ensure their team have an advantage of a sort.

Turk Telekom Stadium

The Turk Telecom Stadium is officially the loudest stadium in the world – thanks to a record it set back in 2011. Home to Turkish giants Galatasaray, the 52,000+ seater is often described as the ‘stadium closest to hell.’

If you really want to witness the true atmosphere of the Turk Telecom stadium, you must visit it during one of the local derbies: Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce or Galatasaray vs Besiktas.

Anfield

It is extremely surprising people don’t mention about Anfield enough when talking about stadium atmosphere. The Liverpool stadium continues to set a benchmark in the kind of way football fans must behave when their favourite team is playing.

Anfield has since been renovated and upgraded but the atmosphere continues to be one the defining factors in how Liverpool have made their home a fortress rarely losing to anyone.

Liverpool’s fans however are famous for their chants and their famous ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ song that is sung at the start of every single game before kick-off – the kind of ominous welcome you want opposition football teams to feel walking out to face one of England’s most successful teams.

Celtic Park

The famed Celtic Park is the stadium of one of Scotland’s most successful teams, Celtic. The green-and-white striped army are known for their chants and their pure love of their team irrespective of result and circumstances.

It’s no wonder Celtic pulled off an incredible win against Barcelona in Europe’s top competition. You don’t hear a result like that very often. And its party, and hugely, down to the quality of the crowd at Celtic Park.

Fantasy Football – 7 Different Types of Corner Kicks

Corner kicks are one of the many ways of restarting the play in fantasy football league. A corner kick is taken when the ball passes beyond the goal line, with the last touch coming from a player of the defending team.

These are taken from either of the corners of the football field, depending on the proximity to where the ball went out. These are usually good goalscoring opportunities for the attacking team and also for the fantasy football game fans of 11wickets Apps.

Naturally, there are several ways to take a corner to confuse the defending team. Now, let us take a look at the various ways in which a corner kick of fantasy football can be executed.

Short Corner

As the name suggests, this is the shortest of the corner kicks. The kick-taker passes the ball to a team-mate who is standing closer than 10 yards. This technique relies on opposition players leaving the box and moving towards the ball, thereby creating space to score.

Then, either the kick-taker or his team-mate takes back the ball and crosses it into a relatively emptier box or passes it to another player.

Near-post Corner

Once again, as the name suggests, the objective of a near-post corner is to cross the ball towards the nearest goalpost. This type of corner usually targets the absence of a defending player at the near post or the lack of a tall player at the same area.

The ball is crossed close to the head-height or slightly higher. The attacking player can either head the ball, take a shot with his foot or even redirect it towards a team-mate.

Far-post Corner

Just like the near-post corner, these are directed towards the far-post. These are the most common type of corner kicks as the attacking team looks to take advantage of the best headers in the team.

Normally, the attacking player runs from the edge of the box towards a lofted cross to head it in.

Mid-range Corner

Between the near-post and far-post, we get the mid-range corner. In this case, the ball is crossed right in front of goal. The exact position can be anywhere from the six-yard box to the edge of the penalty area but it is always in front of goal.

In all cases, the attacking player runs in to either head the ball in or volley it.

Direct Corner

One of the rarest corners to pull off, a direct goal is attempted in this case. This is an inswinging corner as the kick-taker tries to curl the ball into the goal.

Therefore, it is a difficult one to execute with multiple defenders and goalkeepers guarding the goal. Further, it requires inch-perfect accuracy as well, making it a difficult one to pull off.

Thus, these are the different types of corner kicks in football based on where the ball is played.

Inswinging Corner

In this case, the ball is whipped with an inward spin, i.e. the ball trajectory moves towards goal making it easier for the attacking team to score.

Outswinging Corner

The trajectory of an outswinging corner is away from the goal. The spin on the ball is used to target an attacking player’s head to increase the chances of scoring.

Chicken

In England, there was the case of angry Blackburn Rovers supporters who released a chicken on the football field. This was in protest of the owners Venkys who made the majority of their wealth in selling poultry.

Drone

A qualifying match between Serbia and Albania of EURO 2016 had to be stopped just before half time. In the 41st minute, something from the sky came down to greet both sets of players. It a drone which was carrying the Albanian flag on it. This sparked plenty of on pitch battles as both countries had a tense relationship.

Black cat

At some places, this animal is believed to be the source of bad luck. But in this fantasy premier league scenario has perfect comic timing. In the Eredivisie game 2013 which took place between Heracles and FC Groningen a black cat came in the field in the middle of the game. As the game was a dull scoreless affair, the timing of the cat was excellent. The man in the middle had no choice but to stop the game as both teams waited for the cat to depart.

Selfies

One of the most hilarious halt to a game took place at White Hart Lane which is home to Tottenham Hotspur. This specific incident occurred during a UEFA Europa League match between Spurs and Partizan Belgrade. The game was suspended after less than 42 minutes when not one but three invading fans ran on to the pitch in separate incidents. All three individuals ran around the field before posing for selfies with three of the Tottenham players before being escorted off. The delay lasted a total of ten minutes with Ukrainian referee Yevgen Aranovsky having no option but to take everyone to the safety of the dressing room.
