Delhi and Hyderabad have exited. If you are an ardent follower of fantasy games and playing fantasy cricket T20 India League 2023, check out our likely top 4 in qualifying for the playoff round.
Defending champion Gujarat has already qualified. The scintillating seven poised to see them marching to the final round of the league stage games:
1.Mumbai
2.Lucknow
3.Chennai
4.Kolkata
5.Punjab
6.Bangalore
7.Rajasthan
The Indian league is curiously going down the wire with six more matches, soaring the temperature of fantasy cricket fans. The fever of the twenty20 is slowly gripping the cricket fanatics.
This Sunday, all speculations on the league matches will end. A clear picture will emerge with the formidable four qualifying for the three playoffs.
Here is a sneak peek at the likely teams gearing up for the final faceoffs.
Chennai
Yet again, they can seal their position with 15 points in 13 matches, a run rate of +0.381. They need a win over Delhi in their final faceoff by finishing with 17 points to seal qualification. Losing against Kolkata by six wickets at home could not dampen the chance of going to the last four. However, finishing top two will depend on the outcome of the Mumbai and Lucknow match.
Chennai can finish at 17 points, while Mumbai can qualify with 18 points with a double win. Lucknow can make the road difficult for Chennai if they get to 17 points with their upcoming match win and dent Chennai’s prospect with the net run rate.
Bangalore’s win over Hyderabad secured them in the top 4 positions in the points tally. With 14 points pushing Mumbai down to the 6th position based on the run rate, Rajasthan occupies the 5th spot.
Mumbai
With 14 points in 13 matches with an NRR of -0.128, a win of the Rohit Sharma-led team over Hyderabad can seal their position in the top two. Losing against Lucknow dented their hope, making them slip down to the 6th position because their run rate dipped. They need to win their next game with a good margin to boost their run rate to stay in contention for the top two positions.
Lucknow
With 15 points in 13 matches with an NRR of +0.304, an emphatic victory over Hyderabad by seven wickets and a sensational victory over Mumbai by five runs got them going for them. It catapulted them into the top 3 and contended with Chennai based on the NRR to seal the coveted second position after Gujarat. Lucknow can slip out of the top 4 if it loses against Kolkata on 20 May, which is unlikely.
Bangalore
Its win over Hyderabad catapulted them into the top 4, bringing them back into contention. But now, it is a precarious position for the team. It depends on their last match against Gujarat on 21 May to stay in the game, but on the same day, they want Mumbai to lose against Hyderabad. If Mumbai wins, they get their shoulder into the top 4. If they lose and Bangalore wins, they will maintain their position in the top 6.
Rajasthan
Rajasthan occupies the 5th position ahead of Mumbai, with 14 points in 14 matches and an NRR of +0.148. It is their last match at the league stage, with a win by four wickets over Punjab on 19 May, helping them stay in contention by securing the 5th position. They have no more matches to play, and it all depends on how the other teams will fare. Their chance to qualify in playoffs looks grim, as they need many results from other games to go in their favor. They can afford only one win for Punjab and Bangalore to keep their hope alive. They also require Mumbai and Lucknow to lose their remaining matches, which looks far more unlikely. It could be the end for Rajasthan this season of the twenty20 Indian league.
