Fans of cricket spreads around the world. Hollywood is not an exception. Every important cricket series or the cricket world cup has witnessed the Hollywood celebrities in the VIP box of the cricket stadium where the cricket is being played. 

As the craze of participating in the online fantasy game is increasing day by day, we are not sure how many of the Hollywood celebs participate in forming their fantasy cricket leagues but they frame cricket in their mind, build a script, produce, act and direct a movie and present the movies to us. 

Hence, we are overflowing with entertainment as we have the real cricket matches, the fantasy cricket as well as movies based on cricket. So, let us count our favourite cricket based movies. And see which one we have missed out and not watched till now. We can plan a Sunday evening on the couch watching the missed ones. 

The Final Test 

The movie of 1953 is about a cricket player, Sam Palmer playing the last test cricket match of his career. This movie is a comedy drama. And the lead actor desperately wants his son to be present at his last innings! 

Wondrous Oblivion  

A movie of 2003, it is about eleven-year-old David Wiseman who is mad about cricket but no good at it. He has the complete kit but none of the talent, and he is a joke at school. Hence, when a Jamaican family moves in next door and constructs a cricket net in their back garden, David is in seventh heaven. 

Playing Away 

The movie of 1987 is based on a cricket team in a small English village. Itinvites a team of West Indian heritage based in Brixton to mark the close of their “Third World Week” celebration. This TV comedy film was well admired by the viewers. 

P’tang, Yang, Kipperbang 

This 1982 TV movie revolves around Alan Duckworth, who is known as ‘Quack Quack’ to his friends and is a socially awkward fourteen-year-old who is passionate with cricket and Ann Lawton, a girl in his class. 

Authur’s Hallowed Ground 

This 1984 TV movie revolves around Arthur, the groundsman. He’s a perfectionist who has lovingly tended the cricket pitch for 45 years. Now he is given a new assistant. 

Hit for Six 

A movie of 2007 is about a sidelined West Indies Cricketer fights demons of his past, which includes a match-fixing charge. He learns about love in an unlikely quest to play in a major global tournament and earn the respect of his estranged father, a former great West Indies player.
