It’s not always the fact that a person born in a certain country will play for that country without fail. There’ve been cases where the person belonging to some other countries are playing for some uncommonly other country. Needless to say, cricket is a game beyond any religion, nation and individual person. Introduction of the fantasy cricket leagues have reduced the boundaries to a larger extent. Here’s a brief overview of the cricketers who despite of being born in one country have made some other country hugely proud with their flawless performance.  

Kevin Pietersen 

In spite of having a successful cricket team in South Africa. Kevin preferred to join the England’s team and played as a batsman from 2004 to 2014. Initially, Pietersen had played for his country, that’s South Africa. However, from 2004 he became a permanent member of the England team. However, if you’re wondering about his English connection, then be clear that his mother is an English woman. In 2010, when England won the ICC world twenty20, Pietersen was declared as the player of the entire tournament.  

Andrew Strauss 

Call it a coincidence, but Strauss is another South African born cricketer who joined the England team instead of the home team. He was born in 1977 in Johannesburg and later became the captain of England’s team. He was also successful in leading the team in two Ashes match and helped the team in winning twice. On an average 7037 runs are in his pocket. However, fantasy cricket game players have missed out the chance of getting such players into the charts. Since the option was not present previously.  

Andrew Symonds 

The hard-hitter and all-rounder Australian cricketer doesn’t have Aussie blood in his veins. Rather, Symonds originally belongs to England. Eoin Morgan 

The current captain of the England cricket team, this man was born near England but not in England! Although a well-known fact for all fantasy cricket gamers, however for the novice people, Morgan was born in Ireland. He was named the captain of England in 2014 and holds the record for the fastest fifties in ODI during the 2019 world cup. Unlike the other players, Morgan has been able to successfully play for both England and Ireland at the same time.  

Sikandar Raza 

Imagine a Pakistan born player playing for Zimbabwe. Sikandar Raza was originally born in Sialkot, Pakistan and started playing for the domestic cricket team from a very early age. His excellent skills made him popular at a rapid pace and he was put into the Zimbabwe team in 2013. Currently he plays for Zimbabwe. Call it fate or talent, this man was put into the team by the selectors which made Zimbabwe a strong team till date!
