Fantasy Cricket – Controversial Coaches in Cricket History

Coaches are the spirit of a team. Besides team captains, the coaches are the strategy maker for any cricket team. In fact, when we play daily fantasy cricket, we depend somewhat on their decisions.

A captain takes instant decision as per the situation, but the coach carry out their preparation on basis of research work on opposition team. A fantasy cricket league team win or lose coach will need to take the key responsibility.

Today we will focus on the controversial coaches of cricket history. Let’s take a look and play cricket online at 11wickets App.

    Greg Chappell

He is probably the most debatable coach of Indian Cricket Team. His “Young Blood” principles destroyed many skilled cricketers and first name will come of Sourav Ganguly. Not only was he, Virender Sehwag and Irfan Pathan dropped from the Indian team. Chappell-Ganguly controversy was the consequence of series of events at the end of 2005 and early 2006 which included highly publicized infighting in the Indian cricket team involving the then recently appointed Coach Greg Chappell and skipper Sourav Ganguly, this incident made him one of the most controversial Coach of the team and in the cricket world.

    John Buchanan

John developed a few handy theories which really helped Australia team to get victory. He believed the axing of 4 Australian players for screwing up to complete a job during the tour of India has passed England a benefit ahead of 2013 Ashes. Buchanan had reputation for using non-traditional methods during his period at the helm of a extremely successful Australian team and he said the serious action taken by the team administration in India could establish a masterstroke, or it could lead to the end of Coach Mickey Arthur‘s tenure. When he showed up at Kolkata Knight Riders he used his ‘Multi captain Theory’ which could not switch in IPL, though he did not admit his inability. This incident made him another one of the controversial coaches.

    Ottis Gibson

Ottis Gibson made debate when he verbally bombarded International Cricket Council boss Haroon Lorgat saying “ridiculous”. Bangladeshi supporters bombarded the West Indies Team as Bangladesh lost against them. Those Bangladeshi followers threw stone at the bus of the team. He also stated that staying in a hotel room of Chennai he could hardly say that those stones were merely pebbles. This controversial comment against Harron Lorgat made him among the controversial coach.

    Bob Woolmer

He designated as the coach of the Pakistan team in 2004. In 2006, Pakistan was charged for tampering the ball against England at Bristol in International T20 match in 2006. He had to support his team to hold his popularity. At the time of verdict, he said that he could hardly recall any such episode and he refused suggesting ball-tampering. His technique did not get accomplishment in world cup 2007. But his death made him more debatable. He was discovered dead in a hotel room at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on 18th march 2007. At first it was regarded as a normal death leading to heart attack but later homicide investigation had been launched. Later post-mortem report revealed that the death was natural.

    Javed Miandad

Javed Miandad was one of the greatest Pakistani players ever. Later he turned out to be Pakistan Cricket coach. He had three coaching stints together with the Pakistan national team, with varying success and substantial controversy. In 2004 under his coaching Pakistan started performing horrible against India. He was sacked as soon as the Pakistanis conceded a 2-1 Test and 3-2 ODI series loss on home soil to arch rivals India.
