Fantasy Cricket – Contribution of Indian Cricketers to the Sport

Cricket is one of the most popular games around the world, played by two sides, having eleven players each side. And this popularity of the sports has led to the advent of fantasy cricket games.

One daily fantasy cricket batsman of the famous 11Wickets app stands at each end while a bowler throws the ball to hit at the sticks on stumps and the batsman stand before the stumps to hit the ball before it hits the stumps. Cricket as a sport is not as popular in other parts of the world as in India.

In India, it is a national craze and it has always been so. In today’s online cricket games scenario, it can be said that cricket has become the identity of being an Indian sport. This is the charm of this game in the nation. In addition to this, the people are influenced by the aura of Cricket-stars with huge fan following.

Height of the popularity

No other country’s population follows this game as a prime time show on television or as a topic of discussion over the dining table. The cricketers have become superstars in country due to its popularity. Right from the day they are born, babies are taught to worship their cricketers and later when they are grown up, they are taught to vote for them.

Contribution of the famous ones

Few of the most famous Indian cricket personalities are Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, Kapil Dev, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Sachin Tendulkar is considered as ‘God of Cricket’ and is famous as a superstar everywhere. The second most popular cricketer is Mahender Singh Dhoni, popularly known as Mahi among the young crowd. He is the icon for youngsters. Under his leadership, the Indian Cricket team managed to win first Twenty20 Cricket World Cup Championship in 2007. The M.S. Dhoni led team has been said to be the most successful teams Indian Cricket has eht over seen.

If we talk about master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, his contribution to Indian cricket goes far beyond everything. He made people believe that India could take on any other side in the world. It would be difficult to think of Indian cricket without Sachin Tendulkar. He is not only admired for his amazing work on the field but also admired for his values as human being.

During the era of Sourav Ganguly’s Captaincy, Indian cricket saw a new chapter added to its history. Ganguly took the reign of Indian cricket team and made the young team world famous through his strategies and motivation. So, these cricketers have contributed a lot to the country.

It is because of these legendary cricketers; India has huge craze for cricket. If 11 people play, then 11 thousand watch them. Indians are also used to play cricket at home.

Secrets to Remember before Picking Fantasy Cricket Team

Cricket followers enjoy playing fantasy cricket leagues since it is the perfect combination of sports and fun. From international cricket matches to that of the T20 matches, playing a fantasy game needs one to have some fundamental knowledge.

This goes with information about the pitch, conditions and players who is going to play in XI. Here we look at a few important secrets to remember prior to picking one’s fantasy cricket league.

Fantasy XI online websites: Platforms for you to play Fantasy XI

The mobile, Android/iOS 11Wickets App is one of the fastest growing fantasy league platforms in India. Soon after picking out a team, it is advisable to join a cash contest to win money and each contest possesses an entry fee.

Fact: Be familiar with restrictions put up by fantasy cricket platforms

Prior to picking your team you should be familiar with constraints put up by platforms. 11Wickets, for example, permits maximum of seven players of one team. Furthermore, the team must have one wicket-keeper and minimum of three batsmen, one all-rounder and three bowlers.

Dos: Fantasy XI: Tips to keep in mind while selecting batsmen

When it comes to selecting a batsman, it is essential to pick out someone who comes top of the order and can ensure that the side get to good totals. Batsmen, who stay on the pitch longer, gives optimum points. A wicket-keeper who can be capable behind the stumps and with the bat is essential. If he comes to bat on top of, then it is a lot better.

Options: Ways to get all-round and bowling choices right

All-rounders are the most precious players in fantasy league, since they are probably involved in both batting and bowling departments. You should pick a cricketer who bats at number five or six. You need to pick bowlers who can get wickets, and bowl at the death. As per the points system, wickets are appraised more than any other aspect.

Don’ts: What not to do while picking out a side?

Frequently we see fans getting lured to pick favourites over the ones who are able to have an effect. Fans must not pick their favourite player if he or she isn’t in form and cannot perform well. Choosing more players from a favourite side over better available choices is also a common blunder. One should also not go for all-rounders, who may possibly only bat or bowl. Equilibrium is essential in the fantasy cricket game team.

Factors: Other essential factors to be aware of

Pitch conditions and weather are very important aspects in fantasy games that should to be taken into account as well. Further, the need for the venue and what it is recognized as, become essential while picking bowlers particularly. If a player is injury-prone or is uncertain for a tie then one ought to avoid him.

Deciding on the best skipper (preferably an opener or an all-rounder) is actually essential.

Fantasy Cricket – Tricks to Pick Captain Cricketers

Selecting the captain and vice-captain are the two crucial decisions you have to make while picking up your fantasy cricket game team. A fantasy cricket gamer can win exciting prizes playing fantasy games online with the right game knowledge and awareness.

Well, by now we all are aware that the captain in any fantasy cricket league earns 2X and the vice-captain earns 1.5X points.

Here are our ten favourite tips to pick the right cricketers as captain and vice-captain. Read about them and play online cricket games at 11wickets App.

Select those cricketers who will be available 100% for the game you are playing for.

Ensure the cricketers you are selecting are in good form. And thus, the chance of their contributing high to the team will be more.

Select the Captain based on the conditions they play cricket games. In a pitch where the bowlers enjoy more swing, try to select someone who can bat good under these conditions or select a proper swing bowler as your team captain.

We recommend for picking captain and vice-captain from different teams. This will increase the chance of collecting maximum points.

One method of selecting the captain well is selecting the players based on their opposition. Some cricketers like a particular opponent or a specific bowler. Don’t miss those cricketers!

If you are selecting a bowler as a captain or vice-captain, ensure the bowler takes multiple wickets with decent economy rate.

All-Rounders are the major players for the roles of captains in a fantasy league. If you hunt down a sincere one among the players, select them wholeheartedly

Gather information as much as it’s possible about the teams, pitch, and the conditions.

Select more than one team for each match. So, you can attempt playing with different blends of Captains and Vice-Captains in your fantasy games team.

Selecting the fantasy team is more like the blend and variationSelect the captain in the way that they offer you with the least promise so that you won’t lose much with the points.

In the conclusion:

With the day by day increasing popularity of online fantasy games in India, the competition has been harder than before. Yet, with the number of Cricket matches growing in number, there are more possibilities now for everyone to win. And it all comes with the game awareness and additional practice in selecting the fantasy teams, especially captains and vice-captains.

Good luck in picking the fantasy cricket team and especially your captains!

One team bats…. BTW, why are we telling you guys all this? Second most popular game

Cricket is the second most popular game on the planet, second only to football. Cricket in its early days was thought of to be a child’s game, not to be played by serious adults. How the game has evolved!

Birth of “Laws of Cricket”

In the year 1788, the ‘Laws of Cricket’ were born. The laws have been penned by the Marylebone Cricket Club.

International Cricket Council

The ICC, earlier known as Imperial Cricket Conference, was formed in 1909 as the governing body of cricket. Today, the name is International Cricket Council.

Miscalculations and 14 ball over

A match between Barbados and British Guyana in 1946 is famous for a 14 ball over. It was famous because it had no wides or no-balls. After the normal 8-ball delivery, which was in practice during those days, the extra six deliveries were due to umpire miscounting! We will assume the umpires were very poor in calculations during those days.

First run out using TV replays

Sachin Tendulkar is the first ever batsman to be run out by using the television replays and the assistance of the third umpire. Jonty Rhodes was the fielder.

A sweet revenge

Now this is interesting! Guess what? On the very next day in the same test match, Rhodes himself was run-out by Tendulkar.

Length of the pitch hasn’t changed

The only law of cricket that has stood the test of time is the length of the pitch. Every other law has been modified in some way or the other.

It’s true “History repeat itself”

In the first ever test in 1877, Australia beat England by 45 runs. 100 years later in the Centenary test, the result was exactly the same!

Six ball over

The six-ball over was introduced in 1900.

First ever ball faced in ODI

Geoffrey Boycott holds the record of facing the first ever ball in ODI cricket. Graham Mc-Kenzie was the bowler.

Cricket at years

Sachin Tendulkar might have started his cricketing journey at the tender age of 16, but it was Hassan Raza who became the youngest cricketer to play a test match. He was 14 years and 227 days old at that point in time!

A century in 1877

Ever heard of Charlie Bannerman? This Australian cricketer scored the first ever test-match century in 1877.

Fantasy Cricket – Six Controversial Umpiring Decisions

Controversial umpiring calls are nothing new in cricket with plenty of hotly debated moments during its long history. These calls not just make the real matches thrilling but also the fantasy cricket matches.

So, let explore some of the most controversial calls and have fun playing the online fantasy cricket at 11wickets App:

England awarded test match

Darrell Hair and Billy Doctrove awarded five penalty runs to England team after Pakistan cricket team was charged with ball-tampering during a 2006 test. Pointless to say, Pakistani skipper, Inzamam-ul-Haq plead not guilty and declined to agree the charges made on his team.

The visitors denied playing after the tea break in protest hoping the umpires would upturn their decision. At the time England were 4/298 in their second innings and still trailed Pakistan’s first innings total of 504 by 33 runs.

Finally, the protest ended nearly an hour later but the umpires had removed the bails and declared England the winners of the test.

Murali no-balled

One of the controversial figures of cricket during his almost twenty-year Sri Lankan career, Muttiah Muralitharan and his bowling action was the burning topic in the 1995 Boxing Day Test. Once more it was Darrell Hair having called a no ball seven times on the confidence that Muralitharan’s action was unlawful. After much talk, the Sri Lankan bowler was forced to work from the other end where Steve Dunn was managing without further occurrence.

Dean Jones run out

A few call it poor sportsmanship; others call it playing within the law. Whichever side you take, you have to feel for Australian batsmen Dean Jones who was given out in a harsh twist of fate.

Jones was bowled by Courtney Walsh but the delivery was named a no-ball, at that point sparing Jones’s blushes but the batsman was now walking back to the pavilion not realising he was actually safe. Carl Hooper, sensed a chance, ran in and hit down middle stump, Jones was given out and debate of the ‘fairness’ of the situation raged once more.

Body before wicket

Good judgment for a batsman facing a dam of bouncers is to duck under them. Sachin Tendulkar followed that wise advice at the Adelaide Oval in 1999 but he, like many, got a big shock when a short ball did not rise the way he anticipated.

The ball hit Tendulkar on the shoulder on course for the stumps and the Australians appealed for an LBW, even though it wasn’t a leg. Umpire Daryll Harper gave Tendulkar out and countless were left to go and double check the Laws of Cricket to check it was a genuine dismissal.

Chris Broad’s Double Blow

Broad did not have the best run of luck in the span of a few months in 1987, being on the end of a couple of weird moments against Pakistan cricket team. In England during a series in July, on the second ball he faced, Broad took his hand off his bat as a ball went through to the keeper. The ball struck his loose hand and he was wrongly given out according to cricket laws.

In November, during England’s tour, he was again given out caught behind in spite of replays showing the ball had missed his bat by inches. He declined to walk and after some heated talks with the umpire, was finally convinced to walk by Graham Gooch.

Australia vs. India Second Test

A test that still remains in the minds of numerous for the Harbhajan Singh racism claims made by Andrew Symonds also had its share of debatable calls. Much of the criticism encircled Steve Bucknor who was winding down an astral career and his partner for the match Mark Benson. While both sides felt hurt by some of the decisions, media reports suggested that the Indian side were on the receiving end of more strict calls.

During the first innings, Ricky Ponting was saved after Benson missed him edging the ball to Indian keeper M.S. Dhoni before later being given out LBW in spite of edging the ball. Up next Andrew Symonds got three lucky decisions from Bucknor and third umpire Bruce Oxenford.

During India’s first innings, Wassim Jaffer could have argued he was dismissed off a no ball but replays proved to be indecisive on Brett Lee’s foot. Lee and then Michael Clarke would later be denied what seemed to be plumb LBWs, Clarke missing a chance to claim Tendulkar who would go on to score 154*
