Fantasy Cricket – Know about Types of Bowling

Hey, cricket fans! Let’s talk about balls and bowlers today. We know that on cricket or even in fantasy cricket, bowling is an action of delivering ball to the opponent team’s batsman. Along with batting, bowling is a major concept in cricket.

When you play fantasy cricket at 11wicket.com, the actions with ball and the bowlers brings loads of points n your scoreboard. Hang around with this post and explore the types of bowling cricket world has.

There are two major categories of ball delivery:

Fast and spin bowling

Both categories of bowling is essential in the cricket field. A fast bowler is delivering a ball with more strength and energy. A fast bowler needs to deliver a ball with 130km/h speed or more than it. Fast bowler can bet the batsman by his pace, Yorkers, bouncer.

Again there are two types of pace bowling, fast pace and medium pace bowler. When the average delivery speed of a bowler ranges between 100 km/h to 130 km/, the bowler falls under medium paced. And obviously, fast pace bowler will deliver a ball at a speed of 130km/h or more.

A pace bowler can seam bowling “off cut” and “leg cut”.  A bowler’s middle finger must be at centre of ball and index finger on Non- shining part of the ball. By applying this trick will easily beat batsmen with ‘Off cut’ delivery.

If a bowler have to ball ‘leg cut’ then rub off side part of the ball and your middle finger must be at center of ball and index finger on Non-shining part of the ball. By applying this trick bowlers can ball ‘Leg cut’. There are many fast bowlers, who have more than 140 km/h speed during bowling such as Shoaib Akhtar, Lasith Malinga & Mitchell Starc. There have types of deliveries of fast bowling like-

INSWINGER – Normally ball comes inside for Right hand Batsmen.

OUTSWINGER – It’s like a ball move away from his body part.

SLOWER BALL – A Slower Ball normally delivered to beat the batsman with speed of the ball.

YORKER – A perfect Yorker delivery, arm legs of batsmen and hit the ball powerfully in that specific area.

Swing Bowling

Swing bowling means when the ball moves or rotate towards off side or leg side, known as swing bowling. There are many types of delivery in swing bowling for instance Off spin, Googly, Top spin, Leg break, Off cutter.

Off Spin

Off spin bowling means when a ball goes inside towards batsmen body part for a Right hand batsman.

Googly

When the ball is delivered by off spin bowler, usually he balls a leg spin known as ‘Googly’. Googly delivery helps bowler to beat the batsman by his swing. A Batsman must be focused on bowler’s grip towards his hand to attack him.

Top Spin

When a ball bounces more than its actual delivery. Index finger must be on the seam of ball, thumb and middle finger be on the opposite side of the ball.

Leg Break

Leg break is a swing bowling delivery, which comes in towards the batsmen’s body for left hand batsman and opposite to Right hand batsman goes far from body.

Off Cutter

Off cutter is an off break bowling which swings very quickly than off spin. The reason why it swings more than off spin is the grip, a player’s grip in off cutter bowling changes.
